Cryptocurrencies in Russia and globally: new reality of the financial market in 2026

In 2026, cryptocurrencies in Russia and around the world will no longer be perceived as an experiment. A new financial reality is emerging: states are codifying the legal status of digital assets, banks are building storage and accounting infrastructure, and businesses are integrating crypto instruments into cross-border settlements and treasury strategies. Vladimir Gorgadze, head of the Blockchain Department at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (based at the Idea Research Center) and co-founder of the Atomyze tokenization platform, tells PLUSworld about these processes.
