In the Russian Federation, relations as regards personal data are regulated by Federal Law No.152 “On Personal Data”. Besides, the circulation of certain types of information may be governed by other regulations.

Besides, the circulation of certain types of information may be governed by other regulations. Certain types of financial information may be regulated by Federal Law No. 395-1 “On Banks and Banking Activities” as a banking secret; the processing of biometric personal data is regulated by Federal Law No. 572.
