VTB is testing VTMs in Russia
VTB has installed pioneer video teller machines (VTM) in Russia allowing users to receive online advice from a specialist of the bank’s contact center.
To date, the new machines are only available at two VTB branches located in the Afimall shopping center and near the Tsvetnoy Boulevard metro station in Moscow. Apart from standard functions, they offer an option of video consultations with bank employees. According to VTB, such a device can perform over 90% of the standard services provided by managers in bank offices. The machines and software are supplied by GRG Banking (China).
Upon completion of the VTM tests, VTB will expand the list of services and increase the number of machines. VTB Senior Vice President Miguel Markaryants believes the technology will be in demand at far-off places, since it will allow customers to receive common banking services remotely. According to VTB’s estimations, it should reduce the bank’s costs, including those related to the branch transformation.
