VTB launches digital bank in domestic messenger MAX

Bank clients can now make payments, fund transfers and other transactions from their accounts directly in the messenger. The functionality is also available to users of iOS-powered devices. In the future, many more common and popular banking services will be added on the platform.

VTB became one of the first financial institutions to launch a chat bot followed by a digital bank on the new Russian platform MAX. The bank's services are protected in the same way as the mobile application and Internet banking. For iOS-powered smartphone users, the digital bank in the messenger can be an alternative to the AppStore application or Internet banking via the Safari, Luna, Yandex browsers. 

Even now, VTB clients in MAX can view the balance and transaction history, transfer money, pay for purchases or settle bills, enable banking products, select cashback categories, configure notifications, etc. To make a transaction, the client should log in to MAX using the access code, similarly to entering the VTB Online application. Then the user can select a desirable financial transaction and perform it in a secure area directly in the messenger. 

Besides, in March, a chat bot was launched on the platform, which can consult clients on 1900 issues. In the future, other popular everyday services and products, the ability to customize functionality, etc. will be available in the VTB digital bank in MAX.

The number of active VTB Online users already exceeds 22.5 million per month, and we see that our clients need seamless payments and transfers in messengers, including the new domestic MAX platform. Therefore, we will offer MAX clients a full-fledged online bank for every day. We expect that hundreds of thousands of transactions will have been made on the platform by the year end.
