Jubilee Forum “Cash Circulation + Self-Service. Banking and Retail”: preparations have begun

This year the Forum will discuss a number of topical issues, with special attention given to the modern strategy of the state in the field of cash circulation, including the position of the regulator, and to the initiatives of banks as key market players. In particular, the first results of the implementation of a fundamentally new multi-B2B business model in the form of cash circulation marketplace will be evaluated. That was an initiative of Sberbank of Russia announced at the previous PLUS-Forum and now supported by the majority of market leaders.

The interim results of the introduction of new banknotes of 200 and 2,000 ruble denominations will be summed up, and the participants will also analyze the effectiveness of interaction between the Bank of Russia, commercial credit institutions and vendors in adapting ATM and terminal networks, as well as the readiness of banknote counters and sorters settings for handling the new banknotes. 

The Forum participants will analyze the existing cash handling ecosystem and banking self-service infrastructure that facilitate efficient access of people to cash, and give their opinions regarding the necessity of further improvements of the ecosystem and infrastructure.

The focus will be on the most promising business cases, showing a variety of scenarios for the banking services and cash circulation transformation in the context of the ongoing development of digital banking. Among them are new opportunities and tasks of a network of self-service devices resulted from the introduction of biometric identification, mobile NFC-transactions at ATMs, assisted services, etc. We will discuss the best practices of ATM network monetization in the new economic realities, factors of self-collection efficiency, as well as new social tasks arising from the robotization of cash handling and financial services in general.

The Forum will pay special attention to the security of offline banking and cash circulation – from the issues of countering cyberattacks to the new approaches to cash collection involving no arms or armored vehicles.

As is known already, a round table organized in the Forum framework, where representatives of banks, payment schemes and retailers will discuss the issues of cash dispensing at the checkouts and provision of other financial services in retail. The discussion of this topic began at the 5th PLUS-Forum “Online & Offline Retail 2018”.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Stanislav Kuznetsov announced the bank's intention to create a marketplace for cash circulation for all market participants.

A pioneer AI-based cash management solution was announced. According to Fabrizio Mineo, Chairman of the Board of Sikelia Service, the Roy solution can ensure operator-free work. ROY system delivers all necessary information to any communication device of the decision-maker – a tablet, smartphone or laptop

Gamma Centre demonstrated a unique electronic cashier with the recycling function which can radically change the format of the front-line service. According to Alexey Fomichev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gamma-Center, the electronic cashier Laurel Z 1 has been tested in the certification center of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and can be delivered to interested users in the coming weeks.

Sberbank announced support of Samsung Pay, Apple Pay and Android Pay in the bank’s ATM networks.

According to Nadezhda Malyukh, Cash Circulation Director, Alfa Bank, informed about a new function in their mobile application allowing physical persons to order large amounts of cash.

Robotic counting sector CashStream, the first element of unmanned technologies in cash centers, was presented.

A safe CIT transportation concept using SoftCar special containers was announced. StrongPoint company representatives insist that this concept removes the need for armed guards and armored vehicles.
