From June 1 to September 30, 2020, the maximum acquiring fee for medical services payments must not exceed 1%. The decision was made on May 13 by the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia.

Cost reduction is now of crucial importance for healthcare institutions. The reduced fee applies to clinical units and hospitals, medical laboratories, first aid services and licensed doctors including general practitioners and specialists. The decision will reduce the fee more than 1.5 times compared to the current level.

Earlier, the Bank of Russia limited acquiring fees applied to online purchases of foodstuffs and ready-to-eat food, pharmaceuticals and other health products, clothing, and everyday consumer goods for the period until September 30, 2020.
