International Customer Day was celebrated on March 19. In 2020 alone, the number of Sber clients increased by almost 3 million to exceed 100.5 million people today. The growth of the bank's customer base in recent years has been primarily driven by the development of the Sber ecosystem and the expansion of the range of products and services, which solve a huge range of everyday tasks of people.

Private clients, in addition to receiving the whole range of financial services in a channel convenient for them, can also order a taxi, medicines, groceries and ready-to-eat food, listen to music, watch movies, send parcels, store files in the cloud, to name a few (it is especially rewarding through a subscription to SberPrime).

Apart from the delivery of financial and non-financial services, Sberbank also performs an important social function. In June 2018, the Security Island project was launched to allow a child lost on the street to come to any bank branch, where s/he will be helped to find his parents. Thanks to this project, almost 90 children returned home safely.

Prospective and current university students can apply for a student loan at a reduced interest rate of 3%, supported by the state. In the SberZ school accelerator, high school students offer ideas for future business projects, developing them to finished products. This allows them to declare their ideas, get support in business development from the country's leading companies and enjoy preferences when entering universities.

In 2021, over 400 bank offices across the country were added to those available for people with disabilities. Filters allowing the search of offices and ATMs for such customers appeared on the website. At the same time, Sber's work is not limited to providing physical accessibility: the bank helps clients with hearing and vision impairments to master digital products and improve financial literacy. As part of the educational project #FinanceLucidly, Sber created a series of videos in Russian sign language for clients with hearing disabilities and audio and video instructions for people with visual disabilities.

“On International Customer Day, I would like to thank each of our hundred million customers for their confidence in Sber. Once upon a time we set the goal of being with the client for life. This can only be achieved in one way – by delivering the best-in-class service. This is what we are committed to. Every day, more than 300 thousand customers contact our operators, receiving help and support in solving their problems at any time of the day, while our customers said thanks to Sber employees 53 million times last year alone! I sincerely thank our clients not only for their positive feedback, but also for candid criticism that helps us get better and better,” said Kirill Tsarev, Deputy Chairman of the Execituve Board of Sberbank.
