Dmitry Peskov says Russia is developing its own standards for national cybersecurity, and the ultimate goal is the information sovereignty.

At the same time, the special representative of the Russian president adds that the country itself often becomes the target of purpose-oriented cyberattacks carefully prepared by foreign hackers.

Dmitry Peskov recalled that the authorities took up the issue of cybersecurity several years ago, but to get tangible results in this area, the country “will need more than one year, not even two or five.”

“Today it is important for Russia to create its own technological standards that can ensure the country's cybersecurity,” Dmitry Peskov said to RIA Novosti. Meanwhile, it is next to impossible to reach mutual agreement on international cybersecurity standards at the moment, noted Dmitry Peskov. This situation can be compared with cryptocurrencies, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation believes.
