From July 1, pensions, monthly maternity capital payments and other social payments can be paid solely to Mir cards. Those who do not want or cannot use a bank card, will be able to receive payments in cash or on a regular bank account with no bank card attached.

This requirement applies only to those who receive payments to cards of international payment systems and does not apply to those who receive payments on a deposit account (to a savings account), a nominal account or delivered in cash by mail. Neither it applies to the recipients of Russian pensions permanently residing outside the Russian Federation. For them, nothing will change from July 1; their pensions and social benefits will be delivered in the same way as before.

Initially, it was planned that the transferring pensions to the national payment system was to be completed by July 1 last year. The deadline was rescheduled several times, and in December 2020 it was finally postponed until July 1, 2021.
