OTP Bank becomes the first one in Russia to switch to domestic card processing
On the night of March 21-22, OTP Bank became the first in Russia to completely abandon foreign processing, switching to the domestic Solar solution. The new processing model does not rely on the Oracle DBMS, which mitigate the risks associated with the termination of support for foreign software and potential failures of banking services. OTP Bank is the first in Russia to switch to Russian card processing.
The migration will triple productivity, widen the range of banking products and speed up the transaction processing. Besides, it will provide a higher level of security.
The choice of time for the migration, namely the night from Friday to Saturday, when client activity is minimal, was driven by the complexity of the procedure. All services operations resumed on the morning of March 22.
"The migration to a modern technology stack (PostgreSQL, Java and Kafka) will offer reliability, fault tolerance, scalability and security of card processing. Successful migration is underpinned by the partnership with Solanteq and close cooperation of all bank divisiona over the past year," said Sergey Simonenko, CIO at OTP Bank.
