Online transfers for pensioners proposed to be capped

(no votes)

Rq0asy2IuXw.jpgDmitry Kurdesov, Head of the For Security public initiative, sent a proposal to the Bank of Russia to impose a 10,000 ruble daily limit on pensioners’ online transfers. Such a measure, he believes, will help prevent large value transfers if the pensioner has become a victim of fraudsters.

However, Svetlana Bessarab (United Russia political party), a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, commented on the initiative saying that such a restriction would, in fact, punish not fraudsters, but the pensioners, who may need to transfer a larger amount. She also recalled that earlier the deputies proposed to tighten sanctions for those who cheat and rob older persons.
