Ministry of Digital Development imposes fee on businesses for using public services
A fee is being imposed on businesses that use the e-government infrastructure (EGI). The Ministry of Digital Development notes that companies will only have to pay for such services within the commercial interaction framework. Market participants believe that the innovation may lead to a reduction in the number of services offered to users.
As follows from the explanatory note, in an effort to improve the quality of their services, businesses are actively requesting data through the EGI, with the number of requests continuously growing. The draft resolution of the Ministry of Digital Development empowers the government to set a fee that businesses will pay for using such services.
Companies request data from the EGI to provide services to individuals and legal entities. For example, banks request data on customer fines so that they can pay them directly in the banking application. Insurance companies simplify the processes by allowing people to take information from a digital profile instead of completing multiple fields manually. Real estate services request information about homeowners, etc.
Ordinary users of various services and applications will not be charged for that. For businesses, the price will be 4.94 rubles (с. $0,06) per request.
According to the office of Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko, the document was prepared to implement the recently adopted amendments to the law “On the organization of the provision of state and municipal services”.
