AI to add 1.8 trillion rubles to Russia's GDP in 2025
“According to our forecasts, AI will add 1.8 trillion rubles to Russia's GDP by the end of 2025. By 2030, the AI adoption will increase the gross regional product (GRP) of the subjects of the Russian Federation to 7.7%. For example, the growth of the GRP of St. Petersburg may exceed 752 billion rubles by 2030, the Moscow Region – 560 billion rubles, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – 633 billion rubles, said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Board Chairman, Sberbank, speaking at SPIEF-2025.
The industries that would contribute most to GRP from the AI adoption by 2030 include manufacturing, mining, wholesale and retail trade, transportation and logistics, finance and insurance, activities in digital, scientific and technical spheres, agriculture and electric power engineering.”
