Sber named top European acquirer again
For the fifth year running, Sber has proved its status as Europe’s largest merchant acquirer, according to The Nilson Report Europe’s Top Merchant Acquirers ranking 2020. The bank has secured the top spot in this annual rating in 2016 to inalterably hold the position since then.
According to the research, the bank handled 30.32 billion transactions in its acquiring network last year (compared to 20.6 billion in 2019) to demonstrate the highest growth rate among all acquirers included in the rating. Besides, the bank jumped from line five to line four in terms of web transactions volume, being the largest Internet acquirer in Russia.
