Russia and Türkiye to develop alternative to Mir card payments by May-June 2023

This was stated by Director of the Russian-Turkish Business Council Alexey Yegarmin.

In September, banks in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam limited the support of Mir card transactions amid the threat of secondary sanctions from the US Treasury Department.

The Central Bank of Armenia left the banks the right to make decisions on servicing Mir cards. Private organizations manage their own risks, including those associated with sanctions.
