Mastercard announced the launch of the Google Pay service in Kazakhstan

Holders of Mastercard cards issued by six Kazakh banks – Halyk Bank, Forte Bank, Eurasian Bank, Jusan Bank, Sberbank and Bank CenterCredit, can now make one-touch payments for purchases quickly, securely, simply and conveniently using smartphones or wearable devices at any point around the world where contactless payment technology is supported. From now on, users of Android devices in the Republic of Kazakhstan can buy offline and online using Google Pay.

“All over the world, Mastercard is working to ensure that cardholders could pay anywhere, at any time and in the manner most convenient for them. We announce today that our customers can add their Mastercard credit and debit cards to Google Pay and start using them to pay in stores, online, as well as with Google products. Every Google Pay payment made with a Mastercard card on a smartphone or other device is equally secure and offers the same benefits and guarantees as any other Mastercard transaction,” said Rafal Trepka, Mastercard General Manager for Central Asia.

“Starting today, Kazakhstani users can link their Mastercard cards of partner banks to Google Pay once, and then make purchases in millions of places around the world, using their favorite applications and websites. Today, Google Pay is available in more than 40 countries, and we hope that Kazakhstani users will appreciate the convenience and reliability of this payment method, and that purchases will become faster and more comfortable,” said Zeyna Hatem, Managing Director for Payments Partnerships in EMEA, Google.

Google Pay is a fast, convenient and secure instrument to pay for purchases anywhere: in stores, on websites, in apps, etc. using smartphones powered by Android 5 and higher versions or NFC-enabled smart devices, without wasting time when looking for a bank card or counting banknotes.
