Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued 200,000 soum banknote

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan announced the release of new 200,000 soum banknotes in circulation on July 15, 2022. The banknote design is dedicated to the “Great Silk Road” and the ancient history of the Ferghana Valley located in the territory of the state.

The right side of the banknote bears a local watermark in the form of a camel, the symbol of the ancient “Great Silk Road”, and the denomination “200000”. In the thickness of the paper, there is a 4 mm-wide blue micro-optical machine-readable security thread with a “dynamic effect” and letters “UZB”.

The left side of the banknote face shows “XUDOYORXON O‘RDASI”, an architectural monument located in the city of Kokand, Fergana region, which was the capital of the ancient Khanate of Kokand. The reverse of the banknote depicts the ancient archaeological monument "AXSIKENT ARXEOLOGIYA YODGORLIGI" dating back to the 3rd century BC.
