Businesses using Russian software may become eligible to claim investment tax deduction

This is also envisaged for companies using Russian computer equipment.

The proposal is being discussed as part of a package of measures to support the IT industry, reports the TASS agency with reference to the press office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The corporate income tax deduction is aimed at stimulating import substitution in the field of software and computer equipment, the Ministry for Digital Development , Communications and Mass Media told the agency.

It is noted that the details of application of this measure are yet to be finalized. No information is provided about restrictions in regard to the companies that may be eligible for the tax deduction.
