Bill is signed to prohibit auto debits for online subscriptions

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a bill that prohibits auto debiting online subscription charges to bank cards deleted by the users from their personal account. 

The document was published on the official legal acts portal. The law will take effect on March 1, 2026. 

The rules apply to services provided under a subscription agreement through websites, information systems, or programs. Providers will be required to offer an option to cancel a subscription, including electronically.
