Experts from Big Data Platform, a joint venture established by VTB and Rostelecom, have tested Multi-partial computations (MPC), a new technology for confidential computing.

The technology allows companies to operate data arrays together to improve the quality of services, attain higher business efficiency and solve other issues.

No exchange of source data between companies is the specific feature of MPC technology, which allows the service users to apply the Data Fusion approach. This includes combining data, merging or transferring algorithms from one machine learning area to another, as well as ensuring the machine learning processes synergy.

Ubic, a developer of traffic filtering and analysis services, took part in the testing of Multi-partial computations technology. Collaborative confidential computing allows building machine learning models based on the combined data from various companies. Each party shares information and transfers only the amount of protected data necessary for building the models.

At the same time, the information for obtaining primary data cannot be deciphered.

This technology allows services to be developed on the basis of various sources, enriching the competence and expertise of a variety of industries, from retail to insurance business.
