Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins in honor of Victory Day

The Central Bank issued commemorative silver coins in honor of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.

The regulator announced a 3-ruble coin "Order of Victory" of the “Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” series, as well as a 2-ruble coin “Amet-Khan Sultan” of the “Heroes of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” series.

The 2-ruble silver coin has fine metal content of 15.55 g, alloy fineness of 925, and the shape of 33.0 mm diameter circle. The 3-ruble coin has fine metal content of 31.1 g, alloy fineness of 925, and the shape of 39.0 mm diameter circle. The obverse and reverse of the coins feature a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coins bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions: “RUSSIAN FEDERATION”, “BANK OF RUSSIA”, coin denomination: “2 RUBLES”, “3 RUBLES”, date: “2022”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the alloy fineness, trademark of the mint and fine metal content.

The “Order of Victory” coin reverse bears a coloured relief image of the Order of Victory against the background of images of the Kremlin and fireworks made in the laser matting technique; at the bottom, along the circumference, there is an inscription: “ORDER of VICTORY”, with the date “1945” above it. The mintage is 3 thousand pieces.

The “Amet-Khan Sultan” coin reverse bears relief images of the portrait of twice named Hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan and the “Gold Star” medals against the background of silhouettes of flying aircraft made in the laser matting technique, and stylized images of flight traces; at the bottom there is a relief inscription: “AMET-KHAN SULTAN”. The mintage is 3 thousand pieces.
